We have jobs that are not filled ... why?

Employer representatives from law, healthcare, education, and social work are joining this panel to discuss that question. Other topics will include:

  • Current recruitment and interview processes,
  • Employer expectations of applications,
  • How career services professionals can help students prepare for these jobs markets,
  • The experiences of recent graduates.

Panelists:

Matt Dass: Chief Operating Officer for 24/7 Dental and Clinical Mental Health Therapist.

Michelle Gray: Licensed Clinical Social Worker in TX, IN, and KY and Clinical Program Manage managing a staff of remote licensed clinicians in KY, IN and MN focusing on Medicaid members.

Jess Hoopengardner (she/her): Associate Director of Inclusion & Diversity for the College of Science at Virginia Tech.

Devon Jones: Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist currently serving as Regional Director of Operations for Behavioral Health at Community Health Network.

Amanda Shettlesworth: Director of Human Resources at Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC).

Nancy Steigmeyer: Chief Human Resources Officer with Lasting Change, Inc. 

David Stewart: General Counsel, Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.


The panel is co-sponsored by the IU School of Social Work and CDPI and is open and free to all career development professionals and university and college students.

We're excited to host you in Bloomington, Indiana on the beautiful Indiana University Campus, home of the Indiana Hoosiers. 

As you book your trip, don’t forget: Bloomington is on Eastern Daylight Time—in case you are coming from Central Time.  Hotel accommodation fills up quickly, so make your reservation soon!

We’ve reserved a limited number of rooms at the Hyatt Place and Grant Street Inn in downtown Bloomington, a short walk from where the conference is hosted on campus. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

                     


  • Location:Indiana Memorial Union, 900 E 7th St, Bloomington, IN 47405
  • Our conference will start in the Georgian Room on the first floor of the IMU (click here for map)
  • Parking: There will be some parking available at the IMU, which is $2.50 per half hour or daily rate of $28. Cash and credit card is accepted. There is also hourly parking available downtown in the Poplars Parking Garage and at the Henderson Garage. More parking information is HERE.
