Navigating identity disclosure in the application process is uncharted territory for many—and these people are here to give insight! This “fishbowl” panel will include a professional from a locally-based global company, an attorney familiar with employment law, an EEOC HR Rep, and a career services professional who will engage in a moderated conversation followed by followed by a Q and A session all about identity in the application process. Questions like, “Should I tell them I am pregnant?”, “I am a woman married to a woman… Should I hide that until I am hired?”, “I changed my name, but it is not legal yet. What name do I put on my resume?”, “Should I cover my tattoos?”, and, “I volunteer at my mosque every week. Can I put that on my resume?” will be discussed among panelists. Responses from our panelists will invite attendees to consider options and make intentional choices in their own application process.

This event is free for all CDPI members, and $15 for non-members.  Non-members are welcome to apply for a CDPI membership here.  This event is sponsored by the IUPUI Career Services Council and is part of their Fall Career Week programming.

Why do we charge for events?

CDPI is a non-profit organization that has re-occurring expenses like maintaining the website you are using right now, book-keepers, and grant opportunities for our members.  We rely on membership dues to keep our organization running!
