Professional Development Grants

Call for Applications 

Career Development Professionals of Indiana (CDPI) is pleased to offer $1000 in grants with a maximum award of $500 per proposal to be applied toward professional opportunities that will allow members to attend or provide career related workshops, presentations, or conferences.  Grant monies can be used to fund necessities such as event marketing materials, conference registration, research, travel, and accommodation expenses, and more.

One award of up to $500 will be granted each semester. CDPI reserves the right to grant less than the maximum award amount based on the needs expressed in the proposal. 

  • Individual applicants must be current CDPI members
  • Career Center Teams must include at least one current CDPI member
  • Applications must be in the form of a short typewritten, double-spaced explanation of the project and intended outcomes.
  • Application deadline for fall is August 1st
  • Application deadline for spring is January 1st

Proposal Guidelines:

Cover page should include:

  • Name and contact information of the submitter or team representative
  • Program title
  • Indication if the program being funded is being presented by the applicant or if it is a professional development opportunity for the applicant.

Project Explanation should include:

  • Purpose of the program, workshop, event, or service.
  • Audience (student, faculty, staff, career service colleagues).
  • A description of the program, presentation, or service including learning objectives, proposed timeline and budget.

Official announcement of the award will be made to the applicant via email, then advertised through the CDPI newsletter and at the annual conference. 


Grant funds should be used within one year. Grant recipients will be required to set up a "showcase" or provide a presentation at the CDPI conference, highlighting the program, workshop, or service and outcomes.
